Air Barriers
Air barrier systems eliminate uncontrolled air and vapor leakage through the exterior building envelope and greatly improve its energy efficiency. Air barriers are available in vapor-permeable and non-permeable, self-adhered or liquid applied systems.
Air and vapor barriers are applied to the exterior envelope of a building and have excellent adhesion to most construction surfaces including, but not limited to the following:
- Masonry
- Concrete
- Stone
- Wood
- Gypsum board
- Metal
Air and vapor barrier membranes are often field tested for adhesion, watertightness and airtightness.
